New Cabinet Takes Shape |

Bushells does not have political views or bias - we just sell and rent property. Nevertheless, we believe this election has been fascinating and the talk of many a customer.
Whilst we have no view on Coalition or minority Government there is one thing we welcome. At last we see a Cabinet forming from people with experience within the real world, in Industry related to the portfolios they will now look after. This is a welcome change from the career politicians who form friendships at schools and university and join their respective political parties without having experienced the traumas of working within the business sector.
We are hopeful that this will allow some radical and practical changes to the way things done and perhaps, for once, Ministers will listen to Industry rather than purport to consult them, but dismiss the advice received. Perhaps new Ministers will empathise with those in the working world and recall their own days on the front line.
So far, the appointments have been surprising and perhaps even inspired. They have not been overtly partisan, rather they appear to be selecting the best person for the role. Its very early days in a very difficult climate. Nevertheless, imagine the alternative, a 'Rainbow' coalition under Gordon Brown. At least this new look Government is different and as such offers some real hope.
